The eTrex Venture offers a worldwide databaseof cities and increasedinternal memory. It is also one of three eTrexunits that are designed toprovide precise GPS positioning using correctiondata obtained from the WideArea Augmentation System (WAAS). The memory capacity of one megabyte allows theeTrex Venture to acceptdownloaded information from Garmin's new MapSource Points of Interest CD-ROM.The CD enables users to download locations such as restaurants, hotels,shopping, and entertainment. Once the informationis loaded into the unit, youcan make a selection and telephone and addressinformation for a particularpoint of interest will appear on the screen. TheCD also includes marine datasuch as lights, buoys, wrecks and obstructions.The eTrex Venture comes housedin a stylish, translucent green case.
